The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration has cited a multinational equipment company and Georgia Power Co. after a worker suffered severe burns from an arc flash.
OSHA has proposed a total of $122,000 in penalties for Swiss-Swedish concern ABB Inc. and Georgia Power after finding numerous violations in an inspection following the injury.
ABB was cited for three violations for not powering down equipment before its worker serviced the cabinet as well as failing to train its workers in electrical hazards. OSHA has proposed that ABB pay fines of $10,780.
