Mo. Lowers Work Comp Tax for 2009

Missouri is dropping a tax on employers for workers' compensation benefits from 1% to 0.5% beginning next year.The state is lowering the workers' compensation administrative tax and administrative surcharge from 1% to 0.5%, also beginning on Jan. 1. However, the Second Injury Fund surcharge will remain at 3%. The surcharge is how employers pay into the state fund for workers who have been injured twice, and may not exceed 3% pursuant to Missouri law.
