A retired claimant's tinnitus arose out of the course of his 36 years of employment at a noisy manufacturing plant, according to a ruling from the Iowa Court of Appeals. Case: Square D Company v. Plagmann, No. 1-869/11-0655, 12/21/11, published. Facts: Gregory Plagmann began working for Square D Company in 1969 when he was 18 years old. He continued working there until he retired in December 2005. Square D manufactures electrical equipment components, and parts of its facility are extremely noisy.
