California's Division of Workers' Compensation on Wednesday announced that its new qualified medical evaluator rules will take effect Sept. 1, but online panel requests will not be mandatory until Oct. 1.
Other changes, however, including the elimination of the specialty designation for clinical neuropsychology, will go into effect on Tuesday.
Rules approved by the Office of Administrative Law on Aug. 12 require all applications for QME panels in represented cases be submitted through an online portal.
