Compensable Fatalities Drop to 27 in 2015

A preliminary report shows the number of compensable fatalities in Oregon dropped to 27 in 2015, the lowest level in the past five years. Thirty-one compensable fatalities were reported in 2014, and 30 were recorded in both 2013 and 2012. In 2011, there were 28 compensable deaths, according to Oregon’s Department of Consumer and Business Services. Preliminary results show the 11 fatalities in the agricultural, forestry and fishing industry were higher than in any of the previous years.
