The New York Workers' Compensation Board has removed more than 100 physicians from the list of those authorized to treat injured workers, and added about 100 new names to the list, the board announced this week.
Topping the list of doctors who no longer have medical licenses is Dr. Jeffrey Spina, a Middletown chiropractor who was charged last month in connection with an $80 million fraud scheme that allegedly involved upcoding and double-billing insurance carriers.
