The Iowa Division of Workers’ Compensation, beginning today, will use a private vendor to make hearings available to stakeholders who volunteer to appear remotely by telephone or video from their homes or offices.
Remote appearances will be arranged directly by Los Angeles-based CourtCall, but parties who volunteer for the program must get approval from the deputy commissioner — who is also an administrative law judge — assigned to their case.
