A former city of Los Angeles police detective who worked for a security company while collecting injured-on-duty (IOD) pay pleaded guilty last week to one felony count of insurance fraud and immediately resigned from Police Department as part of the disposition of the case, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office said.Deputy District Attorney Renee Korn of the Justice System Integrity Division said the resignation letter from 38-year-old Gilbert Barrow was made part of the court file.Barrow was sentenced immediately by Superior Court Judge Stuart Rice.
