Letter Carrier Busted After Heavy Lifting at Comic Con

A former New Hampshire postal worker pleaded guilty in federal court last week to making false statements and working while receiving federal workers' compensation benefits.

Prosecutors said Kenneth Dunn, 60, of Nashua, received more than $87,000 in indemnity benefits from 2016 through July of this year, after he claimed a work injury to his neck, back and arm, according to the New Hampshire Union Leader newspaper.

Investigators observed Dunn at a recent Comic Con event in Manchester, where he repeatedly lifted boxes of comic books apparently without discomfort, and sold the books at a booth he set up at the convention. He also failed to report his comic book business to the federal Office of Workers' Compensation Programs, prosecutors said.

Dunn's sentencing is set for January.
