Insurers Group Objects to New Safe Patient-Handling Rules

The American Insurance Association said Thursday it has “serious concerns” with new rules relating to safe patient-handling practices in New York. The Department of Financial Services said in July it is adopting emergency rules that require workers’ compensation insurers to grant credits to hospitals and other health care providers that implement such programs.
