Attorney Wants to Deny Uninsured Employers Their Sales Tax Licenses

A South Dakota claimants’ attorney will ask the state Workers’ Compensation Advisory Council to help push legislation to target uninsured employers. Jim Leach will present a six-page memorandum to the council at its Oct. 11 meeting and ask members to back his proposal to tie employer proof of workers’ compensation coverage to their sales tax licenses.
