A Columbus man who worked as a motorcycle escort for funeral processions will serve a year’s probation and reimburse the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation for the $10,400 in benefits it paid.
Oran Lewis pleaded guilty to workers’ compensation fraud on Wednesday, admitting he worked for two different funeral homes in 2015 while collecting disability benefits. Investigators for the bureau gathered evidence against the 66-year-old after receiving a tip. Lewis confessed and cooperated when confronted, the BWC said.
