Certification Requirement for Claims Examiners to Take Effect

Newly hired workers’ compensation claims examiners in Montana will have to be certified starting Monday, when a new law goes into effect. House Bill 757 takes effect July 1, making the formerly voluntary claims examiner certification process mandatory. People working as a claims examiner as of Jan. 1, 2019, will have a grace period of 12 months to take the examination and receive certification, under terms of the bill.
