Workers' compensation courts in New Jersey were dark on Wednesday, leaving attorneys guessing when the political stalemate over the state budget would be resolved and they would be called back.
Gov. Jon Corzine on Saturday ordered the government shut down after the Legislature missed its July 1 deadline to pass a state budget. Corzine wants to raise the state sale tax 1% to close a $4.5 billion state budget gap, but the Senate reportedly opposes the tax increase, according to the Associated Press.
