SAIF Hires Chief Actuarial Officer

Oregon’s SAIF Corp. has hired Laura Robison as its new chief actuarial officer.

The carrier said in a statement that Robison in September will take over the position managing its loss reserves, overseeing rate-making and rate filing, and managing SAIF’s reinsurance program.

Robison is currently the chief financial officer for the Oregon Health Authority and previously served as insurance commissioner, chief actuary and administrator at the Division of Financial Regulation in the state’s Department of Consumer and Business Services.

Before that, she worked as a consulting actuary and underwriting manager in the private sector.
