Acute illness from pesticide exposure on school campuses continues to be a health concern despite restricted usage in some states, according to an article in the current issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association.
A study of 2,593 students and school employees from 1998-2002 found that adult employees were exposed nearly four times as often as students, making the pesticide issue an occupational hazard for maintenance staff, teachers, support staff and administrators on school campuses.
