Pennsylvania Labor & Industry Secretary Stephen Schmerin said this week that the state is nearing its all-time high for job creation.
The statewide job count rose in July for the fifth straight month to 5.7 million.
"July's statewide employment and jobs numbers confirm that Pennsylvania's economy continues to grow," Schmerin said. "We have experienced job growth for five consecutive months, and are now less than 14,000 jobs short of Pennsylvania's all-time high of 5,719,300 set in February 2001."
