Oregon’s Workers’ Compensation Division revised its geographic service areas to add a new ZIP code for the Bend region of the state.
Oregon uses geographic service areas, or GSAs, to ensure injured workers enrolled in managed care organizations have access to medical care. State law defines a reasonable distance for an injured worker to travel for care as 30 miles in urban areas and 60 miles in rural areas. The distance is measured from the place of employment and as a one-way trip.
