Senate Passes Formulary Bill, Awaits House Vote

Despite opposition from the trial bar, the Pennsylvania state Senate late Wednesday passed a bill that would require regulators to adopt a drug formulary and more stringent utilization review requirements. Senate Bill 936 passed largely along party lines — two Democrats voted yes and a Republican dissented — and now heads to the House of Representatives. “Even Democrats who voted against it didn’t say there was anything wrong with the bill.
