The California Senate approved a bill that would require the governor to appoint a small-business owner to the board of directors for State Compensation Insurance Fund, sending the measure back to the Assembly for concurrence in recent amendments.
The Senate on Tuesday unanimously passed Assembly Bill 61, by Chris Holden, D-Pasadena. Holden on Aug. 23 amended the bill to relax one set of proposed qualifications for the small-business director, but tightening another set of qualifications.
