The Idaho Industrial Commission is holding a hearing this week on proposed rules that would allow employers to pay indemnity benefits using debit cards.
Proposed rules would allow carriers and self-insured employers to pay benefits using an “access card,” which is defined as any card that can be used to initiate an electronic transfer from an employer’s bank account.
The term “access card” would not include “stored value cards” or prepaid debit cards that are not linked to an employer’s bank account.
