Board to Discuss Legislation, Budget on Thursday and Friday

The Alaska Workers' Compensation Board will discuss pending legislation and its budget for the coming fiscal year during a meeting scheduled for Thursday and Friday in Anchorage. The board is slated to discuss House Bill 214 by Rep. Kurt Olson, R-Soldotna. The bill would require new appeals cases now heard by the Workers' Compensation Appeals Commission to be filed with the Alaska Superior Court beginning on June 1, 2016, but would retain the commission's jurisdiction over pending matters until Dec. 1, 2016.
