The Montana House of Representatives on Monday approved a bill that would allow carriers to deny liability or terminate benefits being paid to an injured worker who refuses to authorize the release of medical records.
House Bill 358, by Rep. Mark Noland, R-Bigfork, would also declare that a carrier is not obligated to investigate a workers’ compensation claim if the injured worker will not authorize the release of medical records pertinent to the claim.
