Five free on-site consultations by the state Labor Cabinet in December corrected 62 workplace safety violations and saved employers up to $434,000 in enforcement penalties, the agency said.
The cabinet’s Division of Occupational Safety & Health Education & Training provides free consultative surveys to help increase workplace safety, and decrease injuries and illnesses, the agency said.
Employers do not face penalties unless they fail to correction violations uncovered during the consultations, which they request.
