Louisiana has declared “GAME ON” against companies that misclassify workers and says the practice could lead to fines of up to $1,000 per each employee who is misclassified.
GAME ON stands for Government Against Misclassified Employees Operational Network, a federal-state partnership among the state Workforce Commission’s Offices of Workers’ Compensation and Unemployment Insurance, the state Department of Revenue, the Internal Revenue Service and the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage & Hour Division.
