A Georgia auto parts manufacturer faces $144,995 in fines by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration for alleged safety violations discovered after an explosion that caused third-degree burns to an employee.
OSHA said on April 1 it issued citations for one willful, 18 serious and one other-than-serious violation by the Nakanishi Manufacturing Corp.'s facility in Winterville.
The 33-year-old maintenance worker was operating a dust collector on Sept. 23, 2015 when the explosion occurred, engulfing him in flames.
