House Finance Committee OKs Bill Allowing Chaperones at IMEs

Hawaii's House Finance Committee has recommended the chamber pass a bill allowing employees to have a chaperone present during their employer-ordered medical examinations.  The measure, Senate Bill 859, would also allow employees to record the medical evaluation with the physician's permission. It specifies that the chaperone cannot obstruct medical exams, and the worker must pay any costs associated with transporting the chaperone.
