The Texas Department of Insurance has issued a certificate to Texas Star Network/Concentra, the first workers' compensation medical network to complete the process.
The network's service area covers 75 counties in the greater metropolitan areas of Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, Austin and Waco.
Several other applicants are reported to be close to getting their certifications.
At least 16 other applications for networks in Texas' workers' compensation system have been awaiting approval at the department based on applications pending earlier this month.
