NIOSH Expands SEC Coverage to Lake Ontario Weapons Workers

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) has expanded the list of former Cold War-era weapons workers eligible for federal benefits based on time that was spent on the job at the Lake Ontario Ordinance Works in Niagara County, N.Y.The Buffalo News reported that that NIOSH has added workers who have contracted one or more of 22 types of cancer to the agency's Special Exposure Cohort (SEC).
