Alleged Speed Limit Sign Violation Brings $63,000 Fine

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has issued a $63,000 fine to The De Moya Group in Miami for an alleged willful safety violation.OSHA reported the company violated safety standards when it posted a reduced speed limit sign for a lane closure but failed to remove or cover the existing speed limit sign on Interstate 75.Darlene Fossum, OSHA area director in Fort Lauderdale, said that "although management knew the existing sign needed to be removed or covered, they chose to ignore the requirement and put their employees in danger."The company had 15 days to contest the citation.So...
