DIA Taking Applications for Employer Safety Grants

Wednesday, May 4, 2016 | 0

The Massachusetts Department of Industrial Accidents is accepting applications for workplace safety training and education grants for the fiscal year that starts July 1.

The grant program aims to promote safe and healthy workplace conditions, and improve safety education and training in occupational safety and health, the department said in an announcement.

Employers who apply are required to submit a Certificate of Good Standing with the state Department of Revenue that is less than six months old. Applicants must also be in full compliance with all obligations of the Department of Unemployment Assistance, Department of Industrial Accidents and any other state agencies.

The department said it issues approximately $800,000 in safety grants each year. The grants are capped at $25,000 and are limited to one per employer each fiscal year.

An overview of the program is here.
