OSHA Jolts Computer Parts Maker for Safety Violations

A computer parts maker in McAllen has been hit with $41,000 in proposed penalties for noise hazards and lockout/tagout violations, the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration announced on Thursday. OSHA says Cinch Connectors Inc. failed to assess the specific hazards that are unique to the making of its products, mainly connectors for computers, and other hardware and peripherals. The company was issued 11 citations for a number of safety hazards,  but most concerned noise exposure.
