The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has fined a New Jersey plastics manufacturer more than $435,600 for exposing employees to hearing loss, amputations, electric shock and burns.
Douglas Stephen Plastics Inc. was cited for the safety violations at its Paterson facility, according to a news release from OSHA.
The manufacturer has 15 days to comply, request a conference with OSHA officials or contest the findings before an OSHA review commission. The agency said it investigated the company in response to a complaint about unsafe working conditions.
