Lower Carrier Penalties Among Changes Coming to Nevada

LAS VEGAS -- A new law that decreases penalities against insurance carriers for late benefit payments emerged Thursday as a key issue among a long list of challenges regulators are considering after the 2007 legislation session. The Workers' Compensation Section of the Nevada Division of Industrial Relations (DIR) held simultaneous workshops Thursday in Carson City and Las Vegas to determine what regulations will be needed to implement system changes called for by Assembly Bill 496 and other changes made by the Nevada Legislature.
