U.S. Supreme Court Sets Conference Date for Constitutional Challenge to Comp System

The U.S. Supreme Court has set a conference date for a pending dispute over the alleged constitutional inadequacy of the Florida workers' compensation system. Late last year, the Florida Supreme Court indicated that it was willing to consider this issue when it granted review to Stahl v. Hialeah Hospital. However, the court revoked its writ in April, without giving reasons. The attorney for Daniel Stahl then petitioned the U.S. Supreme Court for certiorari in June, and he has the backing of the Workers' Injury Law & Advocacy Group, the Florida Chapter of National Employment...
