Bulletin Explains 'Gainful Employment' Determination

The Oregon Workers' Compensation Division issued a revised bulletin (No. 324) regarding determination of "gainful occupation" for permanent total disability evaluations. The bulletin provides examples for determining what is a "gainful occupation" when evaluating claims for permanent total disability benefits that close on or after Jan 1, 2006. It also updates the annual percentage of change in the federal poverty guidelines for a family of three that applies to Oregon residents.
