Division Issues Informal Draft of Closed Formulary Rules

The Texas Division of Workers’ Compensation announced Wednesday it has posted a working draft of rules concerning pharmaceutical benefits, including a closed formulary, online and will receive comments on the draft until 5 p.m. Jan. 21.The division reported the draft rules are being proposed as part of the effort to implement the provisions of House Bill 7, the 2005 workers’ compensation reform legislation.The draft includes an extensive list of definitions of words and terms, including “closed formulary,” which is defined as “a restricted list of drugs for use in...
