The Florida Division of Workers' Compensation gave notice Friday that it has drafted rules to implement legislation passed earlier this year that increases the penalty for employers that fail to provide workers' compensation coverage, but also makes it easier for violators to come into compliance.
The division posted a notice in Friday's Florida Register that it has drafted changes to Rules 69L-6.027, 0.28 and .035. The amendments were mandated by House Bill 271 filed by Rep. Travis Cummings, R-Orange Park, at the request of the Department of Financial Services.
