The Maine Supreme Judicial Court has agreed to weigh in on the question of whether workers’ comp payers should be required to reimburse the state’s injured workers for medical marijuana. At least six states have accepted marijuana as a compensable treatment for injured workers. New Mexico led the way in 2014 by ordering a workers' comp carrier to reimburse a claimant for medical marijuana, followed by Minnesota, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine and New Jersey.
