Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner has vetoed a bill that would have required insurers to give 30 days' notice to employers when premiums are set to rise by a significant amount.
Senate Bill 1737, sponsored by Democrat Antonio Munoz of Chicago, was a far-ranging bill that contained some measures the governor supported, but others he did not.
It was modeled in part on legislation that passed the New York Legislature last year and would have required workers' compensation insurers to give written notice, at least 30 days in advance, to employers if a policy renewal will raise premiums...
