Legislation Allowing Disability Pensions for Workplace Illnesses Becomes Law

Legislation allowing Rhode Island police officers and firefighters to take accidental disability retirement because of an occupational illness will go into law without Gov. Gina Raimondo’s signature. Raimondo did not sign or veto Senate Bill 896 and its companion measure, House Bill 5601.
