The Los Angeles Times reported yesterday that 25 Los Angeles firefighters who helped in the search at the World Trade Center have filed workers' compensation claims for respiratory problems they say that work caused.
According to Capt. Edward Bushman, the department's medical liaison officer, most of the claimants have recovered with treatment, but a few have ongoing problems that include coughing, throat irritation and breathing difficulties.
