The American Insurance Association (AIA) today applauded the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) for its just-announced strategy to reduce ergonomic-related workplace injuries. The guidelines, unveiled by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) yesterday, do not require mandated compensation levels or any other provision that would seemingly supercede the state-based workers' compensation system; these have been AIA's primary concerns.
