Behavioral Health Center Fined $207K for Failing to Address Workplace Violence

The federal workplace safety agency has proposed $207,690 in penalties against a Massachusetts behavioral health facility after inspectors found it still has not implemented an adequate workplace violence prevention program.  Employees at Lowell Treatment Center, 391 Varnum Ave. in Lowell, have been assaulted, choked, punched, kicked, bitten, scratched and threatened, inspectors found during a 2015 inspection.
