The number of permanent total disability awards in Maryland decreased by more than 35% during fiscal year 2014, and the money awarded in PTD cases dropped by more than 30%, according to the Workers’ Compensation Commission’s annual report. Meanwhile, the amount of money awarded for fatalities increased by more than 60%.
