The Montana State Fund may be in trouble, if officials overseeing the Fund are correct in testimony they gave to the state Legislature Wednesday, because it was raided last year by the state to help balance the budget.
Nevertheless, Laurence Hubbard, president and chief executive officer for the Montana State Fund, is keeping his cool, telling Associated Press that while the $22 million that was taken to help balance the state budget leaves the Fund with little margin for error on its finances, numerous factors can go positive or negative, thus challenging the balance sheet.
