A bill introduced this month to the Alabama Legislature would limit employers’ liability for benefits to injured workers.
Senate Bill 122, introduced on Feb. 2 and awaiting a hearing in the Senate Committee on Fiscal Responsibility and Economic Development, would cut off payment of permanent and total disability benefits upon a workers’ comp claimant’s 65th birthday or 500 weeks after the date of injury, whichever is longer.
