Louisiana's 3rd Circuit Court of Appeal last week declined an attorney's request to stop the Louisiana Office of Workers' Compensation from reassigning his cases, along with approximately 350 other medical payment disputes, to a single ad hoc judge.The court, however, placed each of the cases on hold and ordered that an evidentiary hearing be held within 45 days on attorney Tom Filo's allegations that Wes Hataway, director of the OWC, had conducted secretive ex parte meetings with attorneys representing Qmedtrix, an Oregon bill review company, to transfer the cases.
