Injured workers in Maryland will see a 1.29% increase in indemnity benefits starting Jan. 1, thanks to the annual cost-of-living adjustment, the Workers' Compensation Commission announced this week.
The adjustment, which is tied to the rate of inflation, has increased every year since 2011. Last year's increase was 1.18%. In 2011, the cost-of-living adjustment actually fell by 0.4%, the commission said.
The commission also recently announced a rise in maximum weekly wage level for benefits and an increase in the medical mileage rate.
