A new 48-page federal study appears to link diacetyl -- the suspected cause of “Popcorn Workers' Lung” -- to severe lung damage in mice.The study, entitled “Respiratory Toxicity of Diacetyl in C57BI/6 Mice”, resulted in mice with exposure to 100 parts per million of diacetyl showing unhealthy symptoms when compared to mice exposed to lesser concentrations of the compound.
